Get ready horror fans, the battle of the dolls is coming. Blumhouse Productions has revealed plans to begin filming Chucky vs. Annabelle later this year.
“This is going to be the biggest horror crossover since Freddy vs. Jason,” says Jasson Plumhouse. “In fact, it’s probably going to the be even better because we know that people are much more scared of inanimate objects than of real people.”
The two horror villains are already making waves at the box office with films Child’s Play and Annabelle Comes Home, but these record-breaking sales are still a surprise to Plumhouse.
“I mean, it’s not even f**king Halloween and people are watching scary films…it’s still surreal”.
Voice actor of Chucky, Mark Hamill, has also tweeted he’s looking forward to working on the new film.
“After The Last Jedi, I said I was done with making shitty reboots,” scoffed the Star Wars actor. “But who knew doing the voice of a psychopathic serial killing child robot would make me think otherwise! Sorry, Luke, I’m Chucky now!”.
In response, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Johnson has distanced herself from the Star Wars actor stating that his character and image is no longer compatible with the Disney brand.
“This isn’t the first time Mark’s disappointed me and I know it won’t be the last,” says Johnson.
Chucky vs. Annabelle is set to begin pre-production in October.
