Captain Marvel may have broken new ground for women superheroes, but not many realise just how much she changed for their haircuts.
Hairdressers from across the globe are coming with reports that their transgender women customers are still asking for Captain Marvel’s infamous pixie haircut. This has surprised most people given that the new haircut was just revealed over a month ago but transgender women are apparently still loving it.
“Without fail it’s the biggest request I get from transwomen. It’s kinda bizarre”, says one hairdresser.
“Don’t get me wrong, I loved Avengers: Endgame but that came out in May, so I don’t know why they want to stick to that same look for another month? It’s social suicide if you ask me”.
Transgender women have responded back saying that while they’re still angry at the lack of acceptance in society, Captain Marvel’s haircut is a great step forward.
“We’ve got a long way to go and the war is far from over, but this is a win for all transwomen,” tweets a transwoman by the username “jessiesgirlnomore”.
“Emma Watson, Anne Hathaway, and now Brie Larson. All of them showed that women can look beautiful with shorter haircuts that would normally be considered manly. This is type of change we need.”
One user on Reddit has also said “It’s a badass haircut. Who doesn’t want to rock that?”.
Disney has refused to confirm whether more of its superheroes will also adopt transgender norms, but CEO Bob Iger suggests he’s not opposed to it.
“If it will make us a billion dollars, then, of course, we’ll consider it,” says Iger.
